Résumé express
Five dice, three rolls per turn, and a score sheet to fill in cell by cell. Each turn you must write a score in an open cell — or cross one out if nothing fits. The upper section (Aces → Sixes) grants a 35-point bonus once its total reaches 63; the lower section lists the combos: Three of a kind, straights, Full house, Four of a kind and the famous Yam. Full sheets = game over, highest grand total wins.
Mise en place
- 5 dice, a cup, and the app’s score sheet: one column per player (up to 6).
- Each player has 12 cells to fill: Aces, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, 6s, Three of a kind, Small straight, Large straight, Full house, Four of a kind, Yam.
- Roll to pick the first player; play then passes to the left.
Tour de jeu
- First roll: throw all 5 dice.
- Up to two rerolls: keep the dice you like, reroll the rest. You may pick kept dice back up.
- Write a score in an empty cell of your column — or cross a cell out (0) if no score works. A filled or crossed cell is final.
Cells and scoring:
| Cell | Condition | Points |
|---|---|---|
| Aces → Sixes | Sum of that face only | 1 to 30 depending on the face |
| Three of a kind | 3 identical faces | Sum of all 5 dice |
| Small straight | 1-2-3-4-5 | 25 |
| Large straight | 2-3-4-5-6 | 25 |
| Full house | Three of a kind + pair | 30 |
| Four of a kind | 4 identical faces | 40 |
| Yam | 5 identical faces | 50 |
In the app: tap the player’s cell, pick the score you rolled among the offered values (or “Cross out”), confirm. The 35-point bonus is added automatically the moment the upper total reaches 63.
Fin de partie
When every sheet is full (12 cells filled or crossed per player), the game ends. Grand total = upper section + bonus if earned + lower section. Highest total wins.
FAQ
Can I cross out a cell on purpose? Yes — it’s even strategic: better to sacrifice Aces early than waste a future Four of a kind.
Does Three of a kind count 3 dice or 5? All 5 dice: three 6s with a 5 and a 4 next to them scores 27, not 18.
Can a Yam count as a Full house or Three of a kind? Yes: 5 identical faces do contain a three of a kind (and three + pair for the Full house). Pick the most profitable open cell.
No Chance cell? Not on this sheet — it’s the classic French score pad, without Chance.
I reached 63 up top with only 4 cells filled? The bonus is earned as soon as the total hits 63, even with upper cells still empty.
Variantes
- Yahtzee: the American version — Full house at 25, Four of a kind = sum of dice, 4-dice small straight, plus a Chance cell. Not covered by this grid.
- Column Yam (ascending/descending): several columns per player with a forced filling order — not handled by the app.
