Résumé express
A merchants’ duel at the Jaipur market. On your turn, one choice only: take cards from the market, or sell a set of goods for rupee tokens — worth less and less as the pile shrinks. Camels earn almost nothing, but they keep the market moving. When the round ends, the richest merchant claims a seal of excellence; first to 2 seals wins the game.
Mise en place
- The market: 5 cards in the middle, 3 camels among them at the start.
- Each player gets 5 cards: camels go straight in front of you (your herd), the rest in hand. Hand limit: 7 goods cards (camels don’t count).
- Goods tokens are sorted by type, descending values visible: diamonds, gold, silver (the precious ones), cloth, spice, leather. Bonus tokens (3-, 4- and 5-card sales) stay face down.
Tour de jeu
On your turn, do exactly one of these:
1. Take cards, either:
- A single good from the market (replaced from the deck);
- Several goods in exchange for the same number of cards from your hand or your camels (the cards you give back can’t be of a type you take);
- All the camels in the market at once.
2. Sell: discard cards of one type from your hand and take that many tokens of that type, starting from the highest. Diamonds, gold and silver require at least 2 cards. Selling 3, 4 or 5+ cards at once also earns a secret bonus token (bigger for bigger sales).
Camels are never sold: they’re trade currency for grabbing several goods at once.
Fin de partie
- The round ends when 3 goods piles are empty, or when the deck can no longer refill the market.
- The biggest herd earns the camel token (5 rupees). Both players count their rupees (tokens + bonuses) secretly — enter both totals in the app.
- The round’s richest player wins a seal of excellence. Set up again and play on; the first to 2 seals wins — then finish the game in the app.
FAQ
Can I take a single camel as “one good”? No: camels are taken all at once, or not at all.
I trade 3 cards for 3 goods — can I give back the same type? No — cards given and taken must be of different types. Camels can always be used as currency.
My hand is full (7 cards), can I still take all the camels? Yes: camels never count against the hand limit.
Is selling a single cloth card allowed? Yes — the 2-card minimum only applies to diamonds, gold and silver.
Tied on rupees at the end of a round? Most bonus tokens wins, then most goods tokens.
Variantes
- Single round: one round to settle it quickly — enter the rupees and finish the game.
- Marathon: best of 5 seals for long evenings for two.
